Dallas, Texas is the ninth largest city and part of the fourth largest metropolitan area in the nation. It covers approximately 343 miles and has a population of about 1.3 million. DFW International Airport is the world’s third busiest airport and Love Field is located conveniently 10 minutes from Downtown Dallas. North Dallas is a large area of communities and neighborhoods in Dallas, Texas. It often refers to the suburbs to the north of Dallas proper but still within the metropolitan area. Most of North Dallas is located in Dallas County, with small portions also in Collin and Denton County as well. The Collin County portion of North Dallas is served by the Plano Independent School District. Some portions of Dallas County are served by either the Dallas Independent School District or the Richardson Independent School District. Many neighborhoods are represented in North Dallas. They include: Bent Tree, Bluff View, Devonshire, Greenway Parks, Hamilton Park, Melshire Estates, North Park, Northwood Hills, Park Forest, Platinum Corridor, Preston Center, Preston Highlands, Preston Hollow, and Vickery Meadows. Cities in and around North Dallas can include Plano, Richardson, and Addison.
